Project: Great Northern Hotel

Project Details

Great Northern Hotel

The Great Northern Hotel in King’s Cross is a historic, iconic establishment which has served people from all over the world since 1854. The hotel’s previous online presence simply wasn’t doing it justice; it needed modernising and it deserved to be brought to life with better branding. We decided to dive deep into the core values of the hotel, bringing the strongest elements up to the surface to create the greatest impact on the primary audience (travelling visitors).

Branding.

We designed a brand identity which showcased the business’ attention to detail while also maintaining its stature and sense of establishment. With fine details and handcrafted artwork, we were able to create a modern, slick website with an artisanal, personable character. You can see these crafted icons and imagery throughout the website, providing illustrative touches of elegance.

Website.

There are multiple parts to the hotel as it boasts several bars, restaurants and unique features related to its railway heritage. That’s why it was important to build an online presence which flowed smoothly with a simple UX design, allowing users to seamlessly navigate around and experience the brand’s personality. Overall, the brand is now stronger and the online presence is more effective, giving people the excitement and confidence they need in order to commit to staying.

Copywriting.

We created copy for the GNH website which matched the vibrant, enticing and emphatic look and feel of the new brand identity. The key was to create a strong set of messages which were impactful enough to hook the attention of the user, and accompanying copy which elaborated on the finer details of the hotel’s features, design and history. Overall, it helps the brand to feel more modern and exciting, a complete contrast to the previous copy.
